Anzac Day is commemorated on 25 April to honour members of the Australian and New
Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I.
Anzac Day remains one of the most important national holiday occasions. It is considered one of
the most spiritual and solemn days of the year.
It is celebrated on Australia, Cook Islands, New Zealand, Niue, Norfolk Island, Samoa,
Tokelau, Tonga as a public holiday.
